Close your eyes and put your attention on your breathing. Take three deep breaths, paying attention to each of your inhale and exhale. Observe how you feel. When you are ready, open your eyes and read this text:
" With gratitude I remember people, animals, plants, insects, creatures of the sky and the sea, air and water, fire and earth, and all of those whose happy efforts make me happy every day.
With gratitude, I remember all that has been done by the thousands of seniors and generations of ancestors who have preceded me.
I offer my gratitude for the safety and well-being that are given to me.
I offer my gratitude for all that this earth has done for me.
I offer my gratitude to the health given to me .
I offer my gratitude for the family and friends given to me .
I offer my gratitude for the community given to me .
I offer my gratitude for the teachings and lessons that were given to me .
I offer my gratitude for the life I was given. "
